Jon Snyder was elected to the office of Porter County Assessor in November 2010 and began serving a four-year term January 1, 2011. Over the past two decades, Jon’s real estate career includes experience as a real estate investor, as a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser in Indiana and Illinois, as a State of Indiana Level III Certified Assessor/Appraiser and he is currently serving his 2nd term as Porter County Assessor. Jon is a member of several REALTOR® organizations, including the National Association of REALTORS®, the Illinois Association of REALTORS®, and the Chicago Association of REALTORS®.

Jean brings over 30 years of experience to the office of Chief Deputy. She started her career in government working for the Liberty Township Trustee’s office. There she learned the real estate and personal property assessment duties. From 1989 to 1996, Jean worked in the Porter County Assessor’s office. In 1997 she left to become Liberty Township’s first Township Assessor, a post she held until 2008. She returned to work for the County Assessor, and in 2011 became head of the Residential Real Estate Department. As the Chief Deputy, Jean’s office is located in Suite 302.

In 2010 she came to the County Assessor’s office as a data entry clerk doing both residential & commercial real estate, and personal property. Since that time Mary has become a key person with our trending and appeal process and is currently the Director of Commercial Operations. Mary’s office is located in Suite 302.

Peggy began her career with the Porter County Assessor’s office in 2004, working part-time in both the assessor’s office and the Porter Township Trustee’s office. In 2008 she became a full time county employee whose main job was in the appeals division. In 2011 she was moved to the residential real estate office assisting in verification and validation of sales. Peggy has been instrumental in ensuring on time tax billing for the county. Peggy’s office is located in Suite 211.
